About Brad Haehnel

Brad has worked within the pop and film world simultaneously; from his Grammy award-winning work with pop artist Nelly Furtado to his Oscar-award winning music mixes on Life of Pi. He has worked with most of the top film composers in Los Angeles and many pop artists as well. With over 150 films to his credit, he has most recently, worked on The Lego Movie Ninjango, The Greatest Showman, Storks and Pete’s Dragon.

Brad Haehnel has had a long and successful career in the music business. He started out as an assistant engineer in 1986 in Toronto at Manta Sound, the preeminent recording studio in Canada. Working his way up through the ranks, he started engineering and mixing various projects. The large studio had orchestral and pop rooms working with pop, film, commercial and television clients.

As his career grew, so did the work of his clients. His first major feature film, The Ice Storm(1997)became a benchmark score and went on to jettison his career and the careers of film composer Mychael Danna and director, Ang Lee. After a few years of commuting to Los Angeles from Toronto, Brad moved to LA to continue his burgeoning career.

Brad has built a reputation on his unique style and meticulous work ethic. As the founder of Noise Alchemy Studio based in Hollywood, Brad spends his off time developing independent artists and focusing on new recording methodology and interesting studio construction and technique.
