About Adam Pietrykowski

Adam Pietrykowski is a multi-faceted composer, producer, and educator. His productions draw inspiration from the avant-garde as well as the mainstream. It is as much an electroacoustic experiment as it is an in your face rock experience. His music is a study in contrast: delicate aggression, labyrinthine simplicity, expressively restrained, stable yet always in flux.

Adam’s work as a guitarist has earned him numerous awards, including several first-place finishes in international competitions (Emergenza, The Montreal Guitar Grand Prix). He has performed new contemporary classical works in Canada and the United States. Adam has worked with acclaimed producers David Frost, Dmitry Lipay, and Silas Brown on recordings for Michael Daugherty, Jonathan Biss, PBS and NPR among others. His electroacoustic orchestral work Zero Order Hold was premiered at Westchester’s famous Performing Arts Center and his film music has been heard at Montreal’s Fantasia Film Festival. He is a recipient of the 2017 Hugh Le Caine award in electroacoustic composition. Adam currently writes and produces for artists across all genres, from dreamy indie-pop (Elijah) to classic acoustic jazz (Doug Munro, Ted Piltzecker). His progressive metal project Van Tilburg is slated for debut in 2018.
